Indian Premier League is again taking the Indian spirits to higher
plains. To keep you on top of the craze, Nokia is joining hands with Kolkata
Knight Riders to add to the IPL funda with the youth.
In a new promotional campaign called Nokia Channel Me, the
Finnish handset maker is trying to push its presence into the youth segment of
18 to 25 years of age in Indian market.
The forthcoming IPL 5 season is the right time to catch the bugs
live feels Nokia and launches the campaign right ahead as the IPL auction hits
the media headlines.
The campaign will run around users who download ‘Fun2Shoot’
app from Nokia Store to their devices to stream the live content they shoot with
their Nokia devices.
Though the campaign is not exclusively about cricket, it will
target Kolkata Knight Raider fans and related activities, since the team is sponsored
by Nokia and is owned by one of their Indian brand ambassador film star Sharukh
Khan.
Though Nokia found an 87 percent growth in its revenue from
India from a year to year period last time, its market among the 18 to 25 group
has eroded recently with its inability to keep floating with the onslaught of
Android and more updated platforms.
The campaign is expected to give them leverage among the youth
especially with the launch of successful Windows Phone devices in the Lumia
series. The Fun2Shoot app is available on Windows Phone Market place also.
Apart from keeping the spirit up for the IPL fans through the
campaign, Nokia is also offering the participants in the campaign a chance to
host a ‘Nokia-Kolkata Knight Raiders’ Chill Party’.
